Quality Assurance Materials Testing and Pavement Management, Reno, NV
The Reno/Tahoe International Airport is the 2nd busiest commercial airport in Nevada. It is also home to the Nevada Air National Guard’s 152nd Airlift Wing. There are three concrete runways ranging in length from 6,100 feet to 11,000 feet. CME has provided geotechnical engineering, construction inspection services and material and laboratory testing for multiple rehabilitation and reconstruction projects on runways, taxiways, aprons, parking lots, and airport facilities. In 2020-2021, CME provided testing & inspection for the $50 million 16R-34L runway reconstruction project at the RTIA, including testing of concrete pavement, asphalt, and lighting system infrastructure. Additionally, for various landside and airside pavement management programs, CME has provided pavement condition surveys according to Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) guidelines to ensure safe, serviceable conditions and to prioritize future rehabilitation projects.
