Job Description: We are seeking experienced ICC-certified Special Inspectors to perform inspection and testing services for public works, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects throughout Northern Nevada. Inspectors will conduct code-compliant inspections in one or more disciplines, such as Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Post-Installed Anchors, Structural Steel & Bolting, Fireproofing and Commercial Building. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and building codes. Work assignments include field inspections, reinforcement verification, structural observations, and documentation of contractor compliance. Inspectors must be able to communicate findings clearly to project managers, contractors, and agency personnel, and must uphold CME’s commitment to quality assurance and responsive service. The ability to perform density testing and concrete testing is preferrable.   Job Requirements:
  • Current ICC certifications in one or more Special Inspection disciplines (e.g., Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel & Bolting, Post-Installed Anchors, Fireproofing, Commercial Building).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural details, and project specifications.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for reporting field observations and test results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple inspections daily.
  • Ability to work both locally and remotely (in and out of town) from CME’s Reno, Nevada office.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a strong commitment to QA/QC and code compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  Preferred Skills:
  • Multiple ICC Special Inspection certifications.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification.
  • Experience performing field/lab testing of soils, concrete, masonry, and structural components.
  • Familiarity with NDOT, IBC, ACI, ASTM, AWS, and agency-specific codes and standards.
  • Experience using tablets/iPads for field reporting.
  • 2-5 years of experience performing special inspections on construction projects (more preferred).

Job Description: We are growing and seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team and help deliver high-quality infrastructure projects with professionalism, technical excellence, and strong client service. In this role, you will support our expanding portfolio of public works, transportation, utility, airport, and water infrastructure projects throughout Northern Nevada. This position is responsible for providing smooth and efficient day-to-day project delivery during construction, overseeing field and laboratory testing results, coordinating inspection activities, communicating with clients and contractors, and verifying compliance with project specifications and QA/QC requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and technically skilled, with the ability to manage multiple active projects in a fast-paced, construction-driven environment. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as this role works closely with agency representatives, engineers, contractors, and CME field staff to keep projects running smoothly, safely, and in accordance with agency standards.   Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate daily construction-phase testing, inspection, and QA/QC activities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Review project plans, specifications, submittals, and testing requirements.
  • Prepare project budgets, testing programs, and staffing schedules.
  • Monitor project progress, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with State, Federal, NDOT, local agencies, and project-specific requirements.
  • Provide technical support to field technicians and inspectors, including mentoring, training, and cross-discipline coordination.
  • Review and approve daily reports, test results, and non-conformance documentation.
  • Oversee and ensure timely completion, review, and submission of project reports, test results, and QA/QC documentation by field staff.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce and submit reports promptly and in accordance with CME and client standards.
  • Assist with invoicing, cost tracking, and project closeout deliverables.
  Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, materials testing oversight, inspection coordination, or related construction engineering support.
  • Strong understanding of public works construction processes, roadway and utility installation, and agency QA/QC testing standards.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple active projects and deadlines.
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with NDOT, RTC, TMWA, FAA, and local city/county public works projects.
  • Experience with the City of Reno Chapter 6 Engineer of Record Program.
  • Familiarity with inspection certifications/requirements for ICC International Building Code.
  • Familiarity with Orange Book and NDOT Silver Book testing requirements.
  • Prior experience supervising or training field technicians and inspectors.
  • Experience with construction management documentation software (e.g., Procore, VPM, etc.).
